What is Kipply?
Kipply is a smart photo cleaning app for iPhone and iPad that helps you organize and delete unwanted photos using an intuitive swipe interface. Swipe left to delete, right to keep!
Is Kipply free?
Yes, Kipply is currently free to download and use. We may introduce optional ads or premium features in future updates.
What iOS version do I need?
Kipply requires iOS 17.0 or later. It works on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Privacy & Security
Does Kipply upload my photos?
No, absolutely not. All photo processing happens locally on your device. Your photos never leave your iPhone or iPad. We do not have access to your photos.
What permissions does Kipply need?
Kipply only requires access to your Photo Library to display and organize your photos. This permission is mandatory for the app to function.
Can I use Kipply offline?
Yes! Kipply works completely offline since all processing happens on your device. No internet connection is required.
Using Kipply
How do I delete photos?
1. Grant photo library access when prompted
2. In the SwipeClean tab, swipe left on photos you want to delete
3. Swiped photos go to PhotoBin (not deleted yet)
4. Go to PhotoBin tab and tap "Delete All" or select specific photos
5. Confirm deletion - this permanently removes photos
What is PhotoBin?
PhotoBin is a safety net that temporarily stores photos you've swiped left on. This gives you a chance to review before permanent deletion. You can restore photos from PhotoBin at any time.
Can I recover deleted photos?
Once you permanently delete photos from PhotoBin, they are removed from your device and cannot be recovered by Kipply. However:
- Check your "Recently Deleted" album in the Photos app (30-day recovery period)
- If you have iCloud Photos enabled, deleted photos may sync across devices
- We recommend backing up important photos before using Kipply
Does PhotoBin save photos permanently?
Yes! PhotoBin persists even if you force quit or restart the app. Photos stay in PhotoBin until you permanently delete or restore them.
What does "On This Date" show?
The Discover tab shows photos taken on the same date in previous years, helping you rediscover memories from the past.
Troubleshooting
The app says I have no photos. What's wrong?
This usually means Kipply doesn't have permission to access your photo library. To fix:
- Open iOS Settings → Kipply → Photos
- Select "All Photos" or grant full access
- Restart Kipply
Photos aren't loading or showing thumbnails
Try these steps:
- Ensure you have a stable connection (if photos are in iCloud)
- Force quit and restart Kipply
- Restart your device
- Check iOS Settings → Photos → ensure "Download and Keep Originals" is selected
The app is slow or crashes
If you have a large photo library (10,000+ photos), loading may take time. Try:
- Close other apps to free up memory
- Restart your device
- Update to the latest version of Kipply
- Ensure your device has sufficient storage space
Deletion doesn't work or photos reappear
If photos reappear after deletion:
- Check if iCloud Photos is syncing from another device
- Look in the "Recently Deleted" album in Photos app
- Ensure you're connected to Wi-Fi (for iCloud sync)
Statistics aren't updating
Statistics track your activity within Kipply. They should update automatically. If not:
- Force quit and reopen the app
- Check Settings → Reset Statistics (last resort)
Account & Data
Do I need to create an account?
No, Kipply does not require user accounts. Everything works locally on your device.
How do I backup my PhotoBin queue?
PhotoBin data is stored locally on your device. If you want to backup:
- Use iCloud backup for your entire device
- Or restore photos from PhotoBin before uninstalling the app
What happens if I uninstall Kipply?
Uninstalling Kipply will:
- Remove the app and all local data (PhotoBin queue, statistics)
- NOT delete your actual photos - they remain in your Photos app
- Clear all app preferences and settings
Features & Updates
Will Kipply have ads?
The current version (v1.0) is ad-free. We may introduce optional ads in future updates to support development. We'll notify you before implementing ads, and your privacy will remain protected.
Can I suggest new features?

How do I update Kipply?
Kipply updates are distributed through the App Store:
- Open the App Store on your device
- Tap your profile icon (top right)
- Scroll down to see pending updates
- Tap "Update" next to Kipply
